We have had some bomb food this year. I have stepped out of my comfort zone and tried lots of new things (but not that many) and have consistently enjoyed some of my favorites dishes. Our favorite local spots have been Binge Kitchen, Happeaz Vegan, Blissful Burgers, Go Vegan SA ,Tapatio Vegans, Fat Rabbits Kitchen and so much more! San Antonio is definitely thriving with up and coming vegan food that is phenomenal and we are glad to be surrounded by people on the same mission. Our family trip to Florida was stress free because we had great vegan food options at multiple places.

Orlando Shout Outs:

Hurricane Grill & Wings

They made our late night arrival a breeze with having impossible burgers on the menu and crispy sweet potato fries.

Thai Silk Restaurant

Let me tell you they had bomb vegan options for thai food, I had Fried Rice with vegan chicken and my husband had drunken noodles with vegan chicken. They definitely did not skimp on the “chicken” it was very flavorful and the portion was huge.

Mellow Mushroom

This is a comfort food from home so we were happy to see one in Florida and we had a vegan cheese pizza delivered to our hotel when we were coming back from the theme parks.

Theme Park Accommodations

I would highly encourage you to download the Disney and Universal apps they are very user friendly and let you search for vegan and vegetarian options in the park. At Universal we found Richter’s Burger Co I will say I was disappointed because the app said they served the Impossible Burger and when we arrived it was the Beyond Burger. Personally I enjoy the impossible burger more but we made due since we were hungry and needed a break from walking. I will say now a couple weeks later I do show they did reflect the change on the app to show it is now the Beyond Burger. There’s a lot of snack stands by that you can get a quick little snack if needed. My favorite last minute snack is always Auntie Anne’s pretzel in original without the butter or the cinnamon sugar you can never go wrong.

The Disney app also made it very easy to locate vegan friendly options we decided to go to Flame Tree Barbecue since we had non vegans in the group so it fit everyone's palette. We ordered the Hot Link Smokehouse Sandwich that came with a bbq sauce, slaw and crispy onions. The Beyond Sausage is top notch indeed and to our surprise our non vegan friends ordered the same thing as us and didn't even realize it was vegan. We can not wait to go back and scope out more vegan options at the parks.

We wouldn't be in the food business if we didn't have a passion and appreciation for food, delicious food at that. My vision for this space is to take you on my journey of discovering great foods in my local city and around the US as we travel for business this year and just my growth and journey. It's time to dig in and shine light on some meals that we have enjoyed and shine light on fellow vegan businesses that you should know about. It's all about empowering ourselves and supporting our community. I invite you in to follow my journey into this prosperous 2020. Wishing you a Happy New Year
